BTRC to hold public hearing on mobile users’ complaints
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission will organise a public hearing to know about the mobile phone users' experiences on the quality of services.
The programme will be organised in the middle of September, said BTRC Chairman Dr Shahjahan Mahmood today.
In recent time, BTRC received huge complaints from the subscribers about their dissatisfaction over different issues, especially for complexities and loopholes of different internet service-packs and call rate offers. To resolve the issues and to know customers’ perspectives, BTRC will organise the public hearing for the first time in its history, Mahmood said.
“We will present high officials of the different operators at the meeting and they must reply to customers’ queries,” Mahmood added.
BTRC, in its last commission meeting, decided to organise such public oriented program.
“Quality of service has appeared as a big issue. That's why we've decided to organise the hearing concentrating on our mobile phone customers,” BTRC chairman added.
Replying to a query regarding the limit of participants’ number, Mahmood said they are mulling to increase the number to hear from more people.
Earlier, BTRC had organised public hearing on different licensing issues where it had limited the participants’ number and as a result most of the seats were booked by the representatives of mobile phone companies.
