BTRC to hold public hearing in Ctg, Rajshahi
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) will arrange public hearing in Chittagong and Rajshahi soon aiming at getting customers’ feedback and suggestion about telecom services.
“We will hold the hearing in Chittagong next month and planning to organise it in Rajshahi soon,” BTRC Chairman Shahjahan Mahmood told a group of journalist at his office in Dhaka today.
The telecom regulator, for the first time, is going to hold the public hearing outside of Dhaka.
On November 22 last year, BTRC organised its first ever public hearing on customer service and now they are working to solve the feedback received, Mahmood said.
In the hearing, mobile phone users have widely blamed the operators for poor quality of services (Qos) especially call drop, mute call, data drop, unwanted SMS and packages charges more than service, interrupted network and fraudulent in the name of packages.
Over 200 customers of different segments of the society participated in the hearing though over 1,300 people have registered their names for participating in the programme.
But, 34 customers got the chance to speak over their sufferings rendered by the operators for both voice and internet packages and bundle offers as well as poor quality of service from the customer care centres.
