BSF guns down youth in Patgram border
Indian border guards Border Security Force (BSF) gunned down a Bangladeshi national in Patgram border of Lalmonirhat early today.
Body of Hazrat Ali, 35, a local, was taken away, our local correspondent reports quoting Lt Col Bazlur Rahman Hayati, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion-15.
According to him, Hazrat was shot inside Indian land around 4:30am. A protest letter was handed to the BSF asking for the deceased’s body and calling for a flag meeting.
The incident took place despite repeated assurance from India on bringing down the casualty-level to zero with borders along Bangladesh.
