Border killing under control
Border killing is now under control, said Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General (DG) Maj Gen Abul Hossain.
Maj Gen Abul Hossain said this while he was talking to reporters after his visit to Putkhali border point in Benapole yesterday.
He said BGB will set up thermal scanner and a watchtower in the border area very soon.
The BGB chief said if the Indian nationals bring cows to the border there is no objection, but no Bangladeshi will go to the Indian side to bring the cows.
“I've been visiting several border points to find out ways to ensure security on the border. We want to start the smart border management system,” he added.
During his border visits, Maj Gen Abul Hossain also exchanged views with members of the para-military force on ways to solve border-related problems.
BGB South-West Regional Commanding Officer Brig Gen Waheduzaman, Sector Commander Col Iqbal Hossain, BGB 49 Battalion Commanding Officer Lt Col Khabiruddin, and BGB 21 Battalion Commanding Officer Lt Col Arifur Rahman were present during the inspection.
