Bodies of tailor, grocer found hanging
Bodies of two people were found hanging in Dinajpur and Mymensingh districts yesterday and the day before.
Police recovered the body of a 'missing' tailor from Chacheya Sal Forest in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur yesterday, reports our correspondent.
The deceased is Masud Parvez, 45, son of late Hossain Ali of Mithapukur upazila in Rangpur district. He ran a tailor shop at a bazar in Nawabganj upazila of Dinajpur.
Family members said Masud went out of his house on Tuesday afternoon and since then he remained missing.
Locals found his body hanging from a tree in the forest the following day and informed the police.
The law enforcers rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy, said Sub-Inspector Mosaddeque Hossain.
In Mymensingh, police recovered the body of a grocer from Angargara village in Bhaluka upazila of the district on Tuesday, reports our correspondent.
The deceased was identified as Harunur Rashid, 42, son of late Mokshed Ali of Nischintapur village in Sakhipur upazila of Tangail.
Quoting locals, Mamunur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Bhaluka Police Station, said Harun had been staying at his in-law's house for last 17 years.
Local people found the body hanging from a tree near the hosue and informed the police.
The law enforcers rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police detained Harun's wife Salma Khatun, 34, and son Abdus Samad, 16, but they were later released after interrogation, said the OC, adding that they are investigating the incident.
