Bangladesi man killed, burnt in Malaysia
The body of a Bangladeshi man with burn marks all over was found yesterday at Lorong Pantai Kelanang, near Shah Alam area in Malaysia, reports Malaysian national news agency Bernama.
Kuala Langat district police chief, Supt Zailan Tasir, said the victim, Syaiyad Ali with passport No. BC0214534, was found face down at a lane by locals around 11:45pm local time.
Quoting two eye-witnesses, Supt Zailan Tasir said that they saw a fire while passing by the beach area before finding the burnt body.
"The police inspection conducted found the body of the victim, in his forties, to be almost 100 percent burnt with wounds on his back and forehead, believed to be inflicted with a sharp weapon."
“We don't dismiss the possibility of the man being killed elsewhere before the body was brought to the beach area and burned, to remove the evidence," he said in his SMS.
Zailan said the victim had a ring on his ring finger, the passport in his wallet, and a RM20 and RM10 note in his shirt pocket.
The cap of a Castrol engine oil bottle was also found near the scene, he added.
The case is under investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
