Attack on Nasirnagar Hindus: Akhi on fresh remand
A Brahmanbaria court today granted a two-day fresh remand for Dewan Atikur Rahman Akhi, the prime suspect of a case filed over the October 30 attack on Hindus in Nasirnagar upazila.
Judicial Magistrate Shafiqul Islam passed the order around 12:45pm, our local correspondent reports quoting Court Inspector Md Mahbubur Rahman.
Earlier, Sub-inspector of Nasirnagar Police Station Sadhan Choudhury, also the investigation officer of the case, placed Haripur Union Parishad Chairman Rahman Akhi before the court with a five-day remand prayer.

Three days into his arrest from Bhatara in Dhaka, Akhi was placed on a five-day remand in the case on January 8.
Unruly zealots carried out a synchronised attack on the Hindus in the upazila and vandalised around 100 homes and at least five temples and looted valuables over a Facebook post On October 30.
The attackers also beat up over 100 people of the minority community.
At least eight cases were filed in connection with the attack incident.
Police detained 107 people so far over the attack.
