86 detained in Satkhira, Dinajpur
A total of 86 people including Jamaat-e-Islami activists and drug peddlers were detained in separate overnight drives in different places of Satkhira and Dinajpur.
In Satkhira, police, in special drives from last night to this morning, detained 53 persons including an activist of Jamaat-e-Islami and five drug traders, and recovered 70 bottles of Phensidyl syrup, 550-gram of ganja, 100 pieces of yaba tablets and one litre of locally made liquor from eight upazilas, reports BSS.
Meanwhile in Dinajpur, 33 persons including two Jamaat activists and five drug traders were held in special overnight drives.
Police also recovered 208 bottles of Phensidyl syrup and 900 liters of locally made liquor from 11 upazilas of the district, adds BSS.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons in Satkhira and Pirjojpur, sources told the news agency.
