7kgs gold recovered at Dhaka airport
The preventive team of Customs house in Dhaka today recovered 60 gold bars, weighing around seven kilogrammes, from the toilet of a Regent Airways flight at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.
The gold bars worth about Tk 3.50 crore were recovered from flight RX 724 that came from Muscat, HM Ahsanul Kabir, assistant commissioner of Customs, told The Daily Star.
On information that gold was being smuggled on the flight, customs officials conducted the search, he said.
He suspects the gold was abandoned in the toilet of the plane sensing the presence of customs officials, the official added.
