4 Sirajganj madrassa men held with gunpowder
Law enforcers detained four men from a madrassa in Sirajganj’s Ullapara upazila and seized gunpowder and crude bombs from them this morning.
The detainees are Joinal Abedin, 55, his two sons Borhan uddin, 28 and Imran Ali, 26, and Abu Bakar Siddiquee, reports our Pabna correpsondent.
Acting on a tip off, police detained them from Jamiatul Cadet Madrassa, a kindergarten madrassa, said Abu Yousuf, additional superintendent of district police.
One kilogram of gunpowder, 10 crude bombs and several religiously inciting books were seized from the spot, he said.
According to the police official, Joinal is a key member of the banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) that carried out several terrorist attacks in Bangladesh.
