Counting is going on after voting in 81 upazilas in third phase of election today which was marked by sporadic violence.
Counting of votes began immediately after the end of voting at 4:00pm.
The voting began at 8:00am and continued for eight hours without any break.
Apart from clash between supporters of contesting candidates, attacks on voters and a polling officer, snatching of ballot boxes, arson, allegation of vote rigging, fake vote casting and suspension of voting were reported from several upazilas.
Six hours into beginning of the voting, an Election Commissioner Mohammad Shahnewaz termed the violence as stray incidents and said the voting was going on peacefully.
