Col Tareque sued for 2 other abductions
Ex-Rab official Lt Col Tareque Sayeed Mohammad, who has been arrested for his alleged link with the seven-murder, was sued today on charge of abducting two BNP leaders in Comilla.
The case was filed against Tareque and four others with the Court of Comilla Senior Judicial Magistrate Sabrina Nasrin, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.
Tareque along with two other former officers of Rapid Action Battalion have been put on remand for their alleged involvement with the abduction and killing of seven people in Narayanganj.
Laksham upazila BNP president and former lawmaker Saiful Islam and municipality unit BNP president Humayn Kabir Parvej have been missing since November, 27 last year.
Parvej’s father today filed the case against Tarique and four others including Rab officer Maj Shahed Hasan Raji for abducting the duo.
The court recorded the case and asked the officer-in-charge of Laksham Police Station to investigate the matter and submit a report.
The case statement said Rab men picked up the duo along with Laksham BNP assistant organising secretary Jashim Uddin on November 27 from South Comilla area.
Later Rab handed over Jashim to police but did not give any clue about Saiful and Parvej.
Family members alleged that the Rab men abducted them.
