Youth goes missing
A youth has been missing since yesterday morning after he was "picked up" by unidentified men on his way to office in the capital.
The mother of Reasat Elahi Chowdhury, 28, alleged that some people had picked up his son forcibly from the Airport Road adjacent to Tejgaon Police Station.
“Reasat works at a private company in Karwan Bazar area. He left the house at around 9:00am for office. But after an hour, we came to know that he was picked up by five-six people,” said his mother Syeda Hosne Jahan, a resident of Tejkunipara.
“Immediately, we tried to reach him over the phone but his cell phone was found switched off," she told The Daily Star.
Then she filed a general diary (GD) with the police station, she said.
"… We are very much worried now as we are yet to know his whereabouts," said the mother.
This correspondent talked to the eyewitnesses who said they had seen five to six men, aged between 30 and 40, forcibly dragged him inside a vehicle.
Officer-in-charge (investigation) of the police station said they were investigating the incident.
