Weeklong fair on Humayun's books opens
A seven-day fair showcasing celebrated writer Humayun Ahmed's books from 17 publication houses was inaugurated by his wife actress Meher Afroz Shaon at Dhaka's public library yesterday, celebrating his 68th birthday.
The litterateur was born on November 13, 1948 at Mohonganj of Netrakona and died on July 19, 2012.
Three compilations of his books, “Humayun Ahmeder Kothamala" and 9th and 10th parts of “Humayun Ahmed Rochonaboli” along with Shaon's “Humayun Sangeet: Naditir Naam Moyurakkhi” were unveiled at the programme.
Prof Emeritus Anisuzzaman was present as the chief guest. Author Selina Hossain and Humayun's younger brother, cartoonist Ahsan Habib, also spoke.
