WB president visits Bangabandhu Museum
On his maiden trip to Bangladesh, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim this morning visited the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi 32 in Dhaka.
Kim, at the second day of his brief visit, arrived at the museum premises at 10:40am to pay respects to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Radwan Mujib Siddiq, grandson of Bangabandhu received him during the visit and briefed him about the history of the museum, according to an official of the museum.
During his 50-minute stay, the WB president placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu and penned a remark on the visitor’s notebook at the museum.
Kim arrived in Dhaka yesterday on a two-day visit to see firsthand the progress Bangladesh has made in transitioning successfully to a lower-middle income country.
