Two of a family among four killed in road crashes
A man and his daughter were killed and his wife was injured in a traffic accident on Magura-Jessore highway in Magura yesterday.
The deceased were Sanjoy Das, 45, and his five-year-old daughter Tripty Das, and the injured is his wife Trisna Das, residents of Kulbari village in Jhenidah Sadar upazila.
"With his wife and daughter, Sanjoy was going to his in-laws' house in Shalikha upazila riding in his motorbike. The accident occurred in Arpara area, as Sanjoy lost control over the bike and hit a roadside tree," said Nasirul Islam, sub-inspector of Magura Sadar police.
They were rushed to Magura Sadar Hospital where Sanjoy and Tripty were declared dead.
With serious injuries, Trishna was shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Our Dinajpur correspondent adds, a speedy truck rammed a motorcycle in Parbatipur upazila of the district yesterday, leaving the latter's rider dead on the spot.
Deceased Sumon Chandra Roy, 26, was a resident of the upazila's Raghabpur village.
According to our Mymensingh correspondent, Jalal Miah ,45, of Neelganj area in Kishoreganj town died after being hit by a bus in the same area on Wednesday night when he was returning home riding his bicycle.
