Road crashes kill 5 in Dhaka, Kushtia
Five people including a traffic police were killed in separate road accidents in Dhaka and Kushtia today.
In Dhaka, a traffic police was crushed under the wheels of a truck when he was performing duty at Technical intersection on Mirpur Road around 7:00am.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Majid, 35, hailing from Chapainawabganj.
Later, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed later, said Bacchu Miah, sub-inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), said.
In Kushtia, four people were killed and other two injured as a Kushtia-bound bus from Shailkupa upazila of Jhenidah rammed a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Lakhmipur bus stand area in the town.
Confirming the incident, Ratan Ali Seikh, officer-in-charge of Islamic University Police station, said their identities could not be known immediately.
The injured were taken to Kushtia General Hospital.
