Six DAGs to be exempted from office
At least six deputy attorneys general (DAGs) will be exempted from their offices due to poor performance in dealing with cases on behalf of the state before the Supreme Court, Law Minister Anisul Huq told The Daily Star yesterday.
The process for their (DAGs) exemption is underway, he said, adding that some new DAGs might be appointed to their places. The law minister, however, did not disclose the names of the DAGs who will be exempted.
He said the government has recently relieved 23 assistant attorneys general (AAG) from their offices, as they were in the services for long periods, but they could not prove their necessity.
