Seven killed in 4 districts
Seven people were killed and 19 others injured in road accidents in four districts yesterday, according to our correspondents.
In Noakhali, three people were killed and 18 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses on Noakhali-Feni highway in Sebarhat area of Senbag upazila, said police.
Identities of the dead could not be known immediately. One of them died on the spot and two others on the way to Senbag and Dagonbhuiyan upazila health complexes.
Both the bus drivers and their helpers fled the scene.
In Joypurhat, a motorcyclist was killed and his 15-year-old son injured as a truck hit his bike from behind Panchbibi-Hakimpur road near Champatoli village in Panchbibi upazila.
The dead is Biplob, 45, of Bogra. His son Sohag was being treated at Panchbibi Upazila Health Complex.
In Bagerhat, a schoolgirl died as a bus run her over in Gazir Bridge area of Sharankhola upazila.
Sumiya Akter, 10, a class V student of Nalbuniya Government Primary School, was going to sit for an examination in an Amragachiya centre.
In Satkhira, one Nasirul Islam, 32, died as a human haulier carrying him was hit by a truck on Satkhira-Bhomra road in Nabadkati area of Sadar upazila, said witnesses.
Meanwhile, Alauddin, 40, a farmer, was killed instantly when a truck ran him over while he was crossing Tujulpur Bazar intersection in Sadar upazila.
