SC stays Khandaker Mosharraf's bail
The Supreme Court yesterday stayed for two weeks a High Court order that granted BNP leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain bail in a money laundering case.
The order came after hearing a plea moved by the Anti-Corruption Commission against the HC order.
The apex court also asked ACC to file a leave-to-appeal petition with it against the HC order in two weeks, said ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan.
Earlier on August 18, Mosharraf got permanent bail in the case filed by ACC on February 6, 2014 accusing him of amassing over Tk 9.53 crore between 2001 and 2006 and depositing that into a bank account in the UK.
