SC clears way for trial of BNP's Wahab
The Supreme Court yesterday cleared the way for the trial court to resume trial proceedings against former BNP lawmaker of Jhenaidah-1 constituency Md Abdul Wahab in a corruption case.
The apex court scrapped a High Court order that had stayed the proceedings of the case which is now pending with the Special Judge's Court of Jessore.
Tthe SC passed the order after hearing a petition filed by the Anti Corruption Commission.
On November 24, 2008, the ACC filed the case in Jhenaidah against Wahab on charge of amassing illegal wealth of Tk 45.97 lakh and hiding information of wealth of Tk 89.92 lakh.
