RU forms committee to investigate corruption in purchasing land
The Rajshahi University authorities have formed a committee to investigate alleged corruption in purchasing a land for the institution's guesthouse in Dhaka.
The three-member committee was formed following a special syndicate meeting held on Tuesday night, said Akhter Farooque, a syndicate member.
The allegation of corruption was brought against four people including a former vice chancellor in February.
Prof Golam Kabir of botany was made the convener of the probe committee of which other members are Prof Chowdhury Zakariya of chemistry and Prof Abu Bakar M Ismail of Applied Physics and Electronic and Electric Engineering department.
