Road crashes kill four
Four people died in separate road accidents in the country yesterday and on Thursday.
Our Bogra correspondent reports, three people were killed and at least 10 others injured when a Gaibandha-bound bus of Bornali Paribahan collided head-on with a maize-laden truck of Syed Enterprise in Dhonkundi area on Bogra-Dhaka highway in Sharpur upazila of Bogra yesterday morning.
One of the dead was identified as Abdul Jalil, 60, the bus passenger. Identities of the other dead could not be known immediately.
After the accident, fire officials and police rushed all the 13 people to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital (SZMCH) where three of them died.
Our Dinajpur correspondent reports, an elderly man was killed as a pickup van hit him from behind while he was walking at Nischinta-Bazaar in Khetlal upazila of Joypurhat on Thursday evening.
The deceased was Sadek Ali, 77, a resident of Hajipara in Kalai municipality.
