Road crashes kill 3, injure 21
Three persons, including a child, were killed and 21 others injured in road accidents in the capital and Manikganj yesterday.
In the capital, CNG-run three-wheeler trader Tofazzal Hossain Malo, 60, died and another was injured as a car losing control abruptly hit a roadside tea stall in Shanir Akhra area.
The injured person was admitted at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The car caught on fire from a technical glitch following the accident, and its driver managed to flee, said Jatrabari police.
In Manikganj, a Jessore-bound bus losing control fell into a roadside ditch near Muljan village in Sadar upazila, leaving Ummey Tanha Tuktuki, 4, dead on the spot and 20 others, including Tuktuki's mother, injured.
Tuktuki was daughter of Nazrul Islam of Jessore's Monirampur upazila.
The injured were admitted at different hospitals.
Meanwhile in another incident in the same upazila, a Dhaka-bound covered van hit a rickshaw from behind, leaving rickshaw passengers Meghla Biswas dead on the spot and her sister Barsha Biswas, 4, critically injured; reports BSS.
