Pleas challenging Dawra degree recognition rejected
The High Court yesterday rejected two writ petitions challenging the legality of the government decision to recognise Dawra degree of Qawmi madrasa as equivalent to master's degree.
The HC rejected the petitions considering that those were not moved properly.
Kamal Hosain Miah, the lawyer for a petitioner, told The Daily Star that they urged the HC to reject the petitions as the gazette notification, which was issued recognising Dawra degree of Qawmi madrasa as equivalent to master's degree, has yet to come into effect. “We will move a new writ petition before the High Court challenging the gazette notification once it will come into effect,” the lawyer said.
