Photo journo Zia flown to Singapore
Zia Islam, chief photojournalist of daily Prothom Alo, who was critically injured after his motorbike was hit by a car on Monday, was flown to Singapore today for better treatment.
An air ambulance carrying Zia took off for Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore from Shahjalal International Airport in the evening, said physician Hussain Imam.
“Zia’s temperature, blood pressure and heart beat were normal while he was taken to Singapore,” Dr Imam told Prothom Alo.
Zia suffered critical injures in his head and legs when a private car hit his motorbike in the capital's Panthapath area on Monday.
The photo journalist was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Later, a DMCH medical board referred him to Apollo Hospitals.
On Tuesday, he underwent a brain surgery at Apollo Hospitals.
