Man found dead after guest visit in Jatrabari
An elderly man was found dead in capital’s Jatrabari area this morning allegedly after taking juice and sweets brought by his relative on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Shawkot Hossain, 58, an electrician by profession. He was found dead in his home in second floor of Kajla’s Nayanagar area at 10:00am.
On Thursday night, a relative of Shawkot, Lal Miah from Gazipur, visited his house with sweets and juice. The two passed the night together.
After taking the deserts, they all went to sleep. This morning family members found Shawkot dead.
Lal Miah left the house early morning. Tk 40 thousand and some gold ornaments were missing from house, said Anisur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jatrabari Police Station, quoting family.
Later Shawkot’s body was sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College Morgue for autopsy. Morgue sources said blood and other samples were collected for chemical test.
