Lift crash: Another victim succumbs at DMCH
Another victim, who was injured in a deadly fire at a shopping mall in Dhaka’s Uttara, succumbed early today, raising the death toll to six.
With 80 percent burn injuries, Mahmudul Hasan Ripon, 36, was rushed to the intensive care unit of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he died around 4:00am.

Dr Partha Shankar Paul, a resident surgeon of the DMCH’s burn unit, confirmed it to The Daily Star.
Earlier, at least five people, including two women, died and over 100 others were injured in the fire at the 15-storey Tropical Alauddin Tower Shopping Complex last evening.
The fire originated at one of the three basements of Tropical Alauddin Tower Shopping Complex after a lift fell in its shaft with a loud bang, police said.
