Include Pritilata's life in text books
Speakers at a ceremony demanded incorporation of Pritilata's biography in the school curriculum.
A website, www.banglarpritilata.com, containing information about Pritilata Waddedar's life and role during the anti-British movement, was launched in the capital marking her death anniversary yesterday.
Pritilata (1911-1932) planned to attack the Pahartali European Club having a signboard reading “Dogs and Indians not allowed”. Injured and trapped by the British police, Pritilata swallowed cyanide and committed suicide to avoid arrest on September 23, 1932.
A film “Pritilata” will be produced by Rashid Palash soon, the speakers said.
