IGP calls for social movement against militancy
Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque yesterday called for a social movement against militancy.
“Everyone from their stage needs to raise their voice against militancy and turn the anti-militancy movement into a social one,” said the police chief.
He was addressing the finale of a debate competition titled, “Role of Social Commitment in the Prevention of Militancy”, jointly organised by the Debate for Democracy, ATN Bangla and Brac.
The IGP equally emphasised social and political commitments to eliminate militancy. He said every family should be aware of militancy and actual interpretation of the Quran.
