HC stays trial of Fakhrul's 5 cases
The High Court yesterday stayed trial proceedings of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in five cases filed for vandalism and arson in 2015.
The stay orders will continue until disposal of the rules, says the HC.
The bench of Justice Md Miftah Uddin Choudhury and Justice Zafar Ahmed came up with the orders and the rules after hearing five petitions of Fakhrul.
Deputy Attorney General Shaikh AKM Moniruzzaman Kabir said the government will move appeals before the Supreme Court against the stay orders. So far trials 16 vandalism and arson cases filed against him have been stayed.
