HC asks Rajuk engineer to explain missing of house help
The High Court today summoned Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha’s engineer Asaduzzaman to appear before it on April 4 to explain about the incident of his house help having gone missing.
The court also asked the officer-in-charge of Joydebpur Police Station in Gazipur to take appropriate legal steps following the general diary lodged by the missing house help Aziza Khatun’s father.
The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim came up with the order on a suo moto (of its own) move following a report published on a Bangla daily newspaper on March 5 about juvenile house help Aziza having gone missing.
According to the report, Aziza Khatun, 12, has been missing from the residence of Asaduzzaman at Kalabagan in Dhaka for around three months.
Aziza’s father Abdul Aziz Khan filed a GD with Joydebpur Police Station on November 20 last year as Asaduzzaman, who is now suspended, had misbehaved with and threatened him (Aziz Khan) when he queried Asaduzzaman regarding the whereabouts of his daughter, the report said.
Today, Supreme Court lawyer Shahanara Begum placed the newspaper report before the HC bench for necessary order.
After going through the report, the HC also issued a ruling asking Asaduzzaman to explain why legal action should not be taken against him for the incident of Aziza having gone missing from his residence.
