Govt failed to stop attacks
Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman HM Ershad yesterday said the government has totally failed to provide security to the country's people and stop terrorist attacks.
Ershad, also a special envoy to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also called upon the government to sit with all political parties to find ways for tackling militancy in the country.
“There was no such instance of killings and terror attacks during my tenure. Jatiya Party government is therefore necessary for restoring peace in the country,” he told an anti-militant rally JP organised in front of the party's central office in the capital's Kakrail.
“We will continue our movement and hold rallies until peace is restored…Common people are unsafe. Foreigners are being killed. What might be more shameful for the country than this,” he said.
On the Gulshan café attack, Opposition Leader Raushan Ershad called upon the government to reorganise police, citing intelligence failure.
