Four killed in road accidents
Four people were killed and 13 others injured in road accidents in four districts yesterday.
In Chapainawabganj, a man was killed after a truck hit a rickshaw van carrying him in Nimtala-Kanthal area of Gomostapur upazila.
The deceased is Ismail Hossain, 45, of the area. Van puller Saddam Hossain was also injured in the accident.
In Tangail, a man was killed and 12 army men were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Pakulla area of Mirzapur upazila.
The deceased is Lablu Miah, 35, supervisor of the bus. He died on the spot.
The Rajshahi-bound bus from Chittagong was carrying the army men.
The injured, including three with critical condition, were sent to Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital.
In Savar, an unidentified woman, aged around 40, was killed as a car hit her while she was crossing the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Banktown area.
In Chittagong, another unidentified woman, aged about 55, was killed as a truck hit her while she was crossing the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Barabkunda area of Sitakunda upazila.
The woman, who died on the spot, used to beg in the area, said police.
