Five medicine traders fined in capital, four sent to jail
A mobile court yesterday fined Tk 4.05 lakh to five medicine shop owners in the capital for selling banned medicines and other free medicines to be distributed at government hospitals, said a press release.
The mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion-2 headed by magistrate Helal Uddin carried out the drive at Pangu Hospital and handed down the punishment.
Of the five owners, four were fined Tk 1 lakh each and another Tk 5,000.
The court also sentenced four brokers to different terms of imprisonment for working as agent of private clinics at the government hospital.
