Five children hurt in bomb blasts

Five children were injured in two separate bomb blasts in Ashulia and Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, yesterday and on Sunday.

In Ashulia, three unidentified persons riding a motorbike yesterday exploded a bomb near a restaurant in Ashulia Rural Electrification area, leaving four workers of the restaurant injured, according to witnesses.

The injured workers including Samir,15, Billal,16, and Soikot,14, were admitted to local clinics.

However, Officer-in-Charge of Ashulia Police Station Mohsinul Qadir said the explosive was found by an employee of the shop in a waste bin, and it exploded when he threw it the air. In Savar, eight miscreants blasted Molotov cocktails into a victory rally of Firoz Kajol, a newly elected member of Harindhara Union Parishad, in Hemayetpur area on Sunday, leaving one Mostafijur Raham Mahim,14, injured.  Police visited the spot, but none was arrested in this regard, according to Savar Model Police Station.
