Sonargaon garment factory fire doused
A fire that broke out at a garment factory in Narayanganj’s Sonargaon today has been doused.
Eight firefighting units doused the flames around 9:30am, about two hours after the fire began, a local stringer reports quoting Md Ahmed Ali of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.
Primary reports suggest the fire originated on the top floor of the 12-storied building of Sinha Opex around 7:15am. No causality was reported immediately.
However, machineries, fabrics and threads were gutted in the fire.
Tajuar Hossain, general manager of Sinha Opex Group, told journalists that fire fighters were informed soon after they noticed the fire. He could not specify the amount of losses immediately.
