Families appeal to PM to bring them back before Eid
Families of the victim of the “enforced disappearance” yesterday made an appeal to the prime minister and the government for taking initiative to get back their near and dear ones before Eid.
They said only Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina could understand their feelings as she had also lost her near ones.
They made the comments while speaking at a discussion organised by BNP marking the “International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearance” in the capital's Supreme Court Bar Association auditorium.
Families of seven “disappeared” BNP men spoke at the programme. The party presented a documentary on the disappeared leaders. “According the UN charter, enforced disappearance is… the most hated crime against humanity," said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. "…Those involved in enforced disappearance must be punished,” he warned. BNP standing committee member Moudud Ahmed also spoke.
