Eliminating militancy not easy without democracy
BNP leader Moudud Ahmed yesterday said without restoring democracy it would be tough to stop militancy.
He was addressing a programme of blood donation at the party's Nayapaltan headquarters in Dhaka, organised by pro-BNP Doctors' Association of Bangladesh, marking the day of release of BNP chief Khaleda Zia on bail in 2007.
Meanwhile, on militants, Moudud said, “You (the government) are calling them the masterminds, but shot them... What is the motive behind it?”, at a Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal-organised discussion in Jatiya Press Club, marking BNP's founding anniversary.
