Durga Puja: Police boss assures foolproof security
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah today assured foolproof security in the capital for Durga Puja, the biggest Hindu religious festival in Bangladesh.
“We are carefully observing the situation and have already taken adequate security measures,” the official said after visiting Dhakeswari National Temple in the capital.
The Dhaka police chief nullified of any intelligence of possible terrorist activities during the Puja.
No bags, sharp weapons, flammable substance will be allowed to carry while entering ‘Mandaps’. Use of fireworks and crackers has already been prohibited.
Close circuit cameras will be installed to keep a watch on key points.
Idol-immersion points at Waize Ghat, Turag river and Mohammadpur will be illuminated.
