DU sees 44 candidates for each seat
Around 44 students will vie for each seat this year at Dhaka University, six more than from last year's 38.
The registration for admission tests for honours programmes under 2016-17 session ended Wednesday.
A total of 3,02,489 students registered for 6,800 seats while last year, 2,54,404 contested for 6,685 seats.
The Ka unit admission test will be held on October 21 and 91,932 students are scheduled to vie for 1,680 seats.
The Kha unit admission test is scheduled on September 23 with 35,066 students to fight for 2,241 seats. In Ga unit examination on September 30 around 43,064 students will vie for 1,170 seats.
In Gha unit examination on October 28, around 1,15,808 students will vie for 1,440 seats.
Arund 16,619 students will compete for 135 seats in Cha unit admission test on October 1 (drawing) and on October 10 (general knowledge).
