DU condemns Khaleda's remark
A regulation, condemning the remarks of BNP chief Khaleda Zia and leader Goyeshwar Chandra Roy questioning the number of martyrs and about the martyred intellectuals, was adopted at the winter senate assembly of Dhaka University yesterday.
Vice Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique chaired the first winter session at DU senate building.
On December 21, Khaleda said, “There are controversies over how many people were martyred in the Liberation War.”
Three days later, Goyeshwar described the 1971 martyred intellectuals as “anti-liberation elements” who “died like fools” and drew salaries from Pakistan until the war ended.
