DSCC conducts drive to free New Market footpaths
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) authorities today conducted a drive to remove illegal makeshift shops from footpaths in New Market area of Dhaka.
Starting from 11:00am, the DSCC carried out the drive on both sides of the roads from Science Laboratory to Nilkhet areas, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports.
In another drive, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) authorities freed the footpath in front of the Australian High Commission office in the capital’s Gulshan diplomatic zone earlier in the day, according to a DNCC press release.

In line with a High Court order to clear footpaths in front of eight embassies, DNCC today removed 33 concrete planter blocks in front of the Australian embassy for ensuring smooth movement of pedestrians.
