The decomposed bodies of two cousins were recovered in Chittagong city's Chandgaon area yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Khokon, 28, and Rashed, 32, of Hamidchar area under Chandgaon Police Station, said police.

The two bodies were recovered from an abandoned iron factory named "National Iron Factory" in BISIC industrial area around 2:00pm, said Abul Bashar, officer-in-charge of the police station.

The police officer suspects that the two cousins were murdered by someone and later their bodies were dumped on the spot a few days ago as their heads and necks bore some injury marks.

Police recovered the bodies after locals spotted those. The duo used to work as day labourers, said the OC adding that the bodies were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital  morgue for autopsies.

Police were trying to unearth reasons behind the double murder.

No case was lodged in this regard till filing of this report at 9:00pm.
