Child’s body found 19hrs after falling in Dhaka canal
Divers recovered the body of a six-year-old girl today, 19 hours after she fell into a canal near the capital's Mohakhali bus terminal.
The body of Sanjida, daughter of rickshaw-van puller Shah Alam, was found around 9:50am, an official of Fire Service and Civil Defence told The Daily Star.
Six divers resumed their search operation around 6:30am today and found the body, the official said.
Sanjida fell into the canal around 3:00pm yesterday when she was playing with her friend Tamim, 7, according to locals.
On information divers rushed to the spot and started their drive for the missing girl, police said.
