British govt donates forged travel document detection equipment
The British government yesterday donated specialist forgery detection equipment to Bangladesh Special Branch to tackle immigration crime.
British High Commissioner in Dhaka Robert W Gibson recently handed over the equipment which will be used by immigration officers at the capital's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to detect false and counterfeit travel documents and thereby reduce the number of illegal migrants, read a British High Commission press release yesterday.
This work is set against the backdrop of human trafficking and smuggling within Southeast Asia.
