Bench asst on three-day remand for 'issuing fake bail orders'
A Dhaka court yesterday placed a bench assistant of Dhaka Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court, on a three-day remand in a case filed for allegedly issuing fake bail orders.
Metropolitan Magistrate Snigdha Rani Chakrabarty passed the order after the Anti-Corruption Commission produced bench assistant Mohammad Moslehuddin Bhuiyan before it with a seven-day remand prayer.
The forwarding report said Moslehuddin was directly involved in issuing fake bail orders. Moreover, another accused Sheikh Md Naim, an MLSS of the court, was earlier arrested.
Naim also gave a confessional statement before a magistrate describing how he made fake bail orders for releasing over 100 accused in 70 separate criminal cases, pending with the same court, between January and July this year.
So he needed to be remanded to find out vital clues about the incident and whereabouts of the others, if any, involved in the forgery, the IO of the case argued.
Kotwali police on July 12 arrested Moslehuddin on the court premises while Naim, an MLSS of the court, managed to flee after Ubaidul Karim Akondo, an official of the court, filed the case.
