Bangladeshi youth team visits 2 Yunnan schools
The 150-member youth delegation from Bangladesh yesterday visited a primary and a secondary school in China's southwestern province of Yunnan.
At Yunnan University Primary School, over 300 children of the school welcomed Bangladeshi youngsters with dance and music performances.
Later, at Yunnan University Secondary School, a brief cultural event was organised in their honour where the school band as well as several of the delegation members performed. Bangladesh's Fatema-Tuz-Zohra impressed the audience with her dance performance.
Two other members -- Urmi Ghosh and Shahan Kamal Uday -- performed two Bangla and Chinese chorus songs on behalf of the music department of Dhaka University.
Gao Yunfei, the school's headteacher, said, "The Yarlung Zangbo River in China and Jamuna River in Bangladesh have the same root, which embodies long relationship between the two countries." The Bangladeshi youth camp in China started on September 11 and it will end on September 24.
