19 pistols seized at Dhaka airport
Customs Intelligence officials have seized 19 “import restricted” pistols at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, it said in a Facebook statement today.
A total of 58 firearms were imported to Bangladesh by Imran Arms and Company from Italy today, according to the Facebook page of the Customs Intelligence, Bangladesh.
Nineteen of the firearms were seized as the customs intelligence officials found those as “old and fabricated”. The Import Policy Order prohibits the import of such firearms in the country, the statement read.
With the 19 pistols, the customs intelligence seized a total of 21 pistols. Earlier on July 9, they seized two pistols at the airport. Of these, 16 are Walther PP pistols and five of KH 4 brand, it said.
