'Ahsanullah's manual still relevant'
The “Teachers' Manual” written and published by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah around a century ago is still applicable to the country's education sector for training teachers, said speakers at a discussion yesterday.
The renowned academician and social reformer's viewpoint on education also reflects in the government's education programmes, said a press release.
Nalta Central Ahsania Mission (NCAM) organised the event in the capital.
Dr Anisuzzaman, professor emeritus at Dhaka University; Prof Hosne Ara Begum, a teacher at Institute of Education and Research; Mohammad Abdul Mazid, former chairman of National Board of Revenue; Dr M Ehsanur Rahman, executive director of Dhaka Ahsania Mission; Muhammad Salimullah, NCAM president; and Momtaz Khatun, a consultant at British Council, were present.
